OPTIMIZING REQUIREMENTS FOR MAXIMUM DESIGN FREEDOM CONSIDERING PHYSICAL FEASIBILITY

چکیده
ABSTRACT Solution spaces are sets of designs that meet all quantitative requirements a given design problem, aiding requirement management. In previous works, ways calculating subsets the complete solution space as hyper-boxes, corresponding to collection permissible intervals for variables, were developed. These can be used formulate independent component with built-in tolerance. However, these works did not take physical feasibility into account, which has two disadvantages: first, may useless, when included cannot realized. Second, bad physically feasible unnecessarily restrict formulation. this paper, we present new concept is defined largest set (1) allows decomposition (e.g., it box-shaped), (2) maximizes useful (good and feasible), (3) excludes non-acceptable (bad feasible). A small example from robot illustrates significantly larger than thus improve decomposition.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Interactive Cover Design Considering Physical Constraints
We developed an interactive system to design a customized cover for a given three-dimensional (3D) object such as a camera, teapot, or car. The system first computes the convex hull of the input geometry. The user segments it into several cloth patches by drawing on the 3D surface. This paper provides two technical contributions. First, it introduces a specialized flattening algorithm for cover...
متن کاملOptimizing Physical Design of Multidimensional Files for Join Queries
Optimally organizing multidimensional data is NP-hard. The little work that has been done in optimising multidimensional data was limited to uniform data distribution and rarely considered the probability of use of each query. And those who did consider the probability of use of each query, they were limited to either partial match query or range query. This work shows that by combining heurist...
متن کاملSimulating and Optimizing Design Decisions in Goal-Oriented Requirements Models
Most software development projects involve transforming an existing system rather than developing one from scratch. The systems under consideration are typically large-scale systems composed of a multitude of heterogeneous components including software components, hardware devices, and human actors. Such systems must satisfy the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders in an organizational cont...
متن کاملConsidering Virtual & Physical Aspects in Acoustic Guitar Design
This paper presents a new approach for designing acoustic guitars, making use of the virtual environment. The physical connection between users and their instruments is preserved, while offering innovative sound design. This paper will discuss two projects, reAcoustic eGuitar, the concept of a digitally fabricated instrument to design acoustic sounds, and A Physical Resonator For a Virtual Guit...
